* When is 20' not really 20'? When you are talking about containers!! Due to the fact that two of these 20' units have to fit into the exact same space on a ship that a 40' unit occupies, they have to be just a little short of 20' long. So, to save you from having to do the conversion, 6,058mm happens to be 19' 10-1/2"!! The exterior dimensions have to be pretty exact for handling purposes in the intermodal shipping industry. However, there is a little leeway with the internal specs. You will notice that all internal dimensions are listed as minimums - that's the industry standard. In practice, most internal dimensions are slightly greater than those listed above.
